For notarial services, the notary receives:

  1. Ministerial Emoluments: These are set by the Conseil d’Etat in the Tarif des Notaires (TNo), which is mandatory for all notaries in Vaud.
  2. Fees: For activities related to and following the notarial deed, as well as for various advisory services, fees are based on the complexity of the case, the time required, and the results achieved.

Both emoluments and fees are subject to VAT.

The invoice also details any disbursements invoiced (such as fees paid to land and commercial registers and other authorities).

By law and practice, notaries typically require an advance payment to cover anticipated fees and disbursements. Once the case is concluded, a detailed invoice outlining fees and disbursements is provided.
